Capital Improvement Fund
While principals and faculty provide an outstanding education to thousands of children, they do so in buildings that often need costly repairs. Unfortunately, schools have limited financial resources to make major capital repairs. The BLOCS Endowment helps schools offset the costs of these repairs by awarding grants for urgent capital needs each year.
School projects may range from repairs and upgrades to heating systems, roofs, bathrooms, windows and lighting to replacement of outdoor equipment and support for modern science labs. BLOCS Endowment grants will not cover the cost of major repair work, but will provide a portion of the project cost.
Capital grant projects funded by the BLOCS Endowment will visibly improve facilities for the safety and well-being of students and can help increase enrollment in the schools. BLOCS will evaluate projects each year on a case-by-case basis. Schools are required to submit a formal application and accommodate a site visit. BLOCS gratefully acknowledges our partner, The Connelly Foundation, for its generous support in this effort.
