BLOCS Is Pleased To Welcome Our New CEO: Dave Rowan
September 11, 2019- King of Prussia, PA: Philadelphia (King of Prussia)-based non-profit BLOCS, has officially appointed Dave Rowan as CEO. BLOCS, an acronym for Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools, is an independent charitable organization supported by individuals, companies, firms
Rowan has over 30 years of experience in the Sports and Entertainment industries. Most recently, Rowan served as Chief Operating Officer of the National Lacrosse League (2016-2019), and previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer of the Philadelphia Union (2010-2016).
Notably, Rowan made his mark as Vice President of Corporate Sales and Service for the Eagles in 1998 and played a major role in closing one of the largest stadium naming rights deals in NFL history with Lincoln Financial Group, as well as the largest deal for a team practice facility with NovaCare. His department continued to thrive during the inaugural season of Lincoln Financial Field, establishing the Eagles as one of the top revenue-producing teams in the NFL.
Rowan spent three seasons as the Director of Corporate Sales for the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he helped to develop the corporate sales plan for the team in its first year of existence. Rowan’s Staff quickly established the Jaguars as the model for future NFL Expansion in revenue generation and event creation. Rowan developed the Jaguars Training Camp as a business model that is now in place for most NFL teams.
The 1984 Penn State graduate has also held esteemed positions with the Philadelphia Phillies, Spectacor Management Group and CBS. Rowan, a South Jersey resident, and his wife, Celeste, have four children, Courtney, Drew, Maggie and Kylie.

BLOCS is the premier need-based scholarship program in the Philadelphia region, providing students the opportunity to succeed in over 100 area Catholic schools. BLOCS uses donations, a Pennsylvania Tax Credit Program, and an endowment to award grade school, high school and special education scholarships to as many children-of any religion-as possible.
Since 1980, BLOCS has invested in the lives of tens of thousands of children throughout the Philadelphia area, including some of the poorest neighborhoods in the City. BLOCS is committed to giving children access to high quality, values-based education in Philadelphia area Catholic schools. From its inception BLOCS has been supported by a diverse group of businesses and individuals.
During the 2017-2018 school year, BLOCS was able to grant partial tuition scholarships to more than 16,000 students and raise over 19.5 million dollars in funds for families in need.
With the support of its Board, friends, and donors, BLOCS endeavors to increase the number of scholarships distributed each year and help strengthen the schools for future generations and for the good of our region.
