Welcome
to the BLOCS Web site!
Business
Leadership Organized for Catholic
Schools (BLOCS) was established in 1980 by a group
of visionary business leaders who recognized the critical need to
support Catholic schools in our region. BLOCS also serves as a fundraising
representative for Catholic Education to the surrounding 5 county
business community. BLOCS works to gain support for the Archdiocesan
Elementary, Secondary and Special Education Schools, as well as
many of the Private Catholic Schools, serving approximately 90,000
children in our region who desire a value-based, quality education
which teaches the life skills necessary to thrive in both their
professional and personal lives. Of those approximately 90,000 students,
many are non-Catholics and/or minorities who are seeking a better
education. BLOCS provides much needed tuition assistance to our
school families, regardless of race, religion or nationality.
Business
leaders who support BLOCS are helping ensure that our region has
the strongest and most competent workforce possible (“Building
a Brighter Future, One Child at a Time”). With your help,
BLOCS will continue to serve as an important connection between
Catholic schools and the corporate and foundation communities who
wish to support Catholic education. With the strong leadership of
BLOCS’ Honorary Chairman, Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop
of Philadelphia, BLOCS is currently exploring ways in which it can
further strengthen and enhance the connection between our business
community and students. With possible new initiatives like Business
Career Mentors, and a Business Leadership Guest Lecture Series,
the future for BLOCS looks extremely bright!
